This started happening on 7 December (on 6 December it was still working) and has been happening consistently ever since. When I try to connect, after entering credentials and skipping certificate warning, I get a pop-up that simply says "Connection Error!". I also tested from my home network with one my colleagues' Windows machines and that also worked. Three of my colleagues (all using Windows) can still connect to the SS VPN using FortiClient. I can still connect to some other VPN's (I have 3 clients who I also connect to through FortiClient and all 3 still work) and no other VPNs / VPN clients seem to be affected. Relatively well that is, Forticlient for Mac isn't exactly fantastic and in particularly it is sometimes dog slow, but at least with some patience, I have always been able to connect and once it's connected it's pretty good.Ī few weeks ago, the VPN stopped working rather abruptly on both of the Macs. This has been working well for me for the past ~2 years since we started using SS.

SS run a Fortigate VPN, so (outside of web consoles and our own web apps) we generally need to connect via the SS Fortigate VPN. We have a number of dedicated servers in a datacenter that I regularly connect to (all hosted by another provider, who I'll call SS). I have 2 Macs that I'm using for work from my home office. EDIT: Abandoned this effort as I managed to get it working with openfortivpn
